Les Blogs first half-day

|

Some good stuff here. Scoble and Shel Israel doing their usual cluetrain thing. Obviously no preparation or real subject of any kind, but in this setting not really required either :)

The panel where I was in was kinda OK, although some people think it came out as too corporate. I wasn’t really sure of the “protocol” so I went for the suit and tie to be sure. Not too many bloggers with tie here, so will go for something lighter over the night and tomorrow.

I’m glad I could end the panel with the Skype + SixApart announcement, seems to be received well by people, several people walked up to me to follow up what this was about. Skype Buttons will be big.

Over lunch, had a word with Gilles Klein, the journalist moderating my panel. Besides praise for Skype that has made his work easier, he also told me that what he’s missing at this event is some element of criticism — just a lot of “blogs are good” backrubbing among each other going on.

Now listening to Global Voices people and Ethan Zuckerman: “I’m trying to blog the other panelists just as I’m speaking” (being on a panel) hmmm… thats too geeky even for me.

Yeah, the tie doesn’t seem to fit anymore. It was corporate in the sense that I didn’t hear anything revolutionary, but I guess that won’t happen on the corporate level for a while.
