The "Merry Tank" children's drawing contest
I had a different intro to this post previously, but things have changed and here’s what’s up. Someone set up a fake/satirical children’s drawing contest page which me and some other people initially took for real. But as was pointed out in comments like this, the whole thing is most probably a fake and satire and the drawings are all by adults. My bad.
So, I have two questions now. 1) who’s running that site and what exactly is being satirized? Are they laughing at Russian propaganda or people like me who will believe everything they want to believe? 2) if children in Ukraine, Russia and Georgia were to actually draw pictures about the contest, would they be any different?
Well, anyway, I’ll leave the material up. Maybe you find it funny. Or ironic. Or whatever. Below are the Russian originals with my translations/edits.

Many children reacted to the Georgian agression against defenceless Ossetian people. The local newspaper received hundreds of drawings, in which children denounce the Georgian and Ukrainian militarists, condemn the fascist crimes and express their aspirations.

Saakashvili orders the tank to crush Ossetian children

Tolik writes in his letter: “Children came out in pretty clothes to celebrate the opening of Olympics. They washed and ate. But Saakashvili ordered the tanks to crush them!!!!!”
Russian troops liberate Feodosiya

Natasha reports: “On the picture I fantasize how we will be liberated of ????. I also drew neighbor Gena here, and how we will greet the liberators. But my brother Sashka misbehaved and he was left home.”
Georgians blow up a monument to Stalin

Алечка пишет нам: “Грузины плохие. Они решили взорвать памятник хорошему дедушке Сталину. Они уже зажгли спичку. Но русские войска уже подоспели на помощь и стреляют из пушки по врагам, чтоб они не взорвали памятник хорошему дедушке Сталину. А в доме на третьем этаже как бы сижу я и это как бы я вызвала российские войска. А рисовать памятник дедушке Сталину мне помогала бабушка Тая.”
Alechka writes us: “Georgians are bad. They decided to blow up the monument to good grandfather Stalin. They already lit the match. But Russian troops already hurried to help and are shooting from the cannon at the enemy so that they wouldn’t blow up the monument to good grandfather Stalin. And I am sitting at home on the third floor, and it’s as if I had somehow summoned the Russian troops. Grandma Taya helped me to draw the monument to grandfather Stalin.”
