This is a micro-experiment in virtualization that received considerable blogger and media attention. Using Parallels and Microsoft Device Emulator, I was able to run all the four publicly downloadable platform versions of Skype (for Windows, Mac OS X, Linux, and Windows Mobile) in a single Mac OS X host. I could initiate chats between them and also place calls.
